Stakeholder

Someone who has an interest in the organization – can be a donor, staff member, volunteer or a board member.


Stage on Plans

Associated with a step in a plan. Indicates the prospect’s place in the solicitation cycle. Refer to the Carolina Relationship Cycle for more information about stages.


Split Gift

A gift that is split amongst two or more designations; can be by amount or percentage. The gift is entered as on revenue record and not as separate gifts.


Source View

The restriction of a query to a specific type of records, such as a constituent, gift, or event records.  All queries are based upon a specific source view.


Source Code

A group of letters or numbers (or combination of letters and numbers), usually placed on order forms or reply cards, to help mailers know the source of each order, and therefore measure the effectiveness of their mailing lists, offers, creative, timing and other variables.

– Allows for measurement of responses; Specific to one segment in a marketing effort and all who receive it; Example: CASAQ12SPIZ42 (Unit, appeal category, fy, package, segment).


Source Analysis Rule Data

Information captured about the donor/prospect at the time they were solicited in order to analyze donor trends and performance.


Solicitor

Development officer who is responsible for asking for money.


Solicitation

A solicitation is a marketing effort to a prospect or to a donor that offers a call to action on behalf of the organization.


Solicit code

Field within Communication Preferences that is primarily used for exclusions such as do not mail, do not email, etc.


SME

Subject Matter Expert. Someone at the university who is very knowledgeable about the subject matter at hand.
