Welcome to the Davie Portal!
Attention Davie Users!
Did you know? Export definitions and export processes are two different things in Davie, but are used together to export the data you need.
Export definition: allow a school or site to specify which data elements they want to see as columns in an output and are used to display a constituent’s data on one complete row in a file. Export definitions are created by UDO Business Analysts and can be modified as needs change for exported data.
Export process: a process used to extract data from Davie, which uses Queries to define the “who” and Export definitions to define the “what,” meaning which columns of data are displayed in the file. It is a simple way to get a lot of, or targeted information about a population, and these processes are available to be set up and run by all Davie users.
How they integrate: Export definitions are a component of export processes, and of Davie processes for communications such as general correspondence processes, marketing efforts, and event invitation processes. The different processes each function in a unique way, but the final file generated by the process is based on the settings outlined in the specific export definition used in the process.
The file generated by running an export process solely should never be used for communication. And, because any export definition can be used with any export process, when an update is needed, please provide the specific name of the export definition to the helpdesk, not the export process in which you use. Some areas have multiple export definitions but may only have one export process.
