Corporate and Foundation Gift and Grant Plan type | Plan template used by development officers working with corporations or foundations. |
Correspondence | A communication with a constituent usually via mail. This is not a solicitation, which would be tracked as an appeal. |
Cost Per Dollar Raised | This metric signifies the amount of money it costs to acquire one dollar from the donor. |
Cost per Piece | Cost to produce each individual mail piece in a promotional mailing. Usually includes writing, design, printing, list rental and postage. Calculated by dividing total costs by the number of pieces mailed. |
Cost per Thousand (CPM) | One of the most common measurements in advertising and direct marketing. This metric tells the marketer how much he or she must spend to communicate a message to one thousand people. The M in CPM stands for Mille, the Roman numeral used to represent 1,000. |
Creative | The art or copy that can be stored in Blackbaud CRM to access in the future. This storage area allows a nonprofit to identify the vendor utilized to create the creative. |
Credit Type | The type of card the UNC will take for credit card processing. |
CRM | Constituent relationship management. Davie is a CRM-based system created by Blackbaud. |
Cultivation | The process of involving a prospect with an organization’s people, programs, and plans; activities that lead to an ask. Activities may include events, committee participation, and/or visits with major gift officers to foster a relationship in preparation for a future solicitation. |
Cultivation Plan | Written plan of activities that will be undertaken to build a relationship with an assigned prospect. The result would be a major gift solicitation. Results must be kept up-to-date. |
Customization | The modification of the system or a functionality to meet a very specific need. |
Data Warehouse | The storage categorization of data (from the constituent database) that is denormalized /or ‘flattened’ to make complex calculations quickly; data is accessible through a query function. |
Decline Recognition Society Level | The ability to keep a donor from being coded at a lower giving level of a recognition program. |
Declined Recognition Society | Check this box when donor has specifically requested that he/she not be included in the recognition program. Checking this box prevents the donor from being coded for the entire program although they may have a qualifying gift. |
Declined Status on Step | The prospect has declined to meet with the fundraiser after a specific request has been made. |
Deeply Anonymous Constituent | A constituent who has made gift(s) to the University and/or associated foundations while requesting that their identity not be revealed, even internally. For questions regarding anonymous constituents and/or their giving, please contact the executive director of donor relations at University Development. |
Degree Level | The four levels of degrees offered at UNC — Undergraduate, Graduate, Professional and Certificate |
Designation | The mechanisms by which specific funds and fundraising initiatives are grouped together. Defines how the revenue received should be applied to fundraising purposes. A designation is the primary method by which revenue is mapped to the general ledger within Davie (Also known as Purpose). |
Designation Hierarchy | A visual representation of the organizational structure of the fundraising purposes. The campus can manage a single specific hierarchy from its highest level fundraising purpose. For example, if a campaign is the highest level of a hierarchy, a Hierarchy tab is available on the campaign from which the organization can access all child designations for it and add new ones. |
Do not contact | Alert placed on contact information in Davie. An address is marked no contact when it is no longer valid. This does not necessarily mean the constituent has requested no contact. |
