Ask

The solicitation of a gift from a prospect. May be a written proposal or a verbal gift conversation.

 
Ask Ladders

Identifies the gift ask amounts that are provided on the response device; also known as ‘gift strings’. You can create ask ladders, a set of fixed or calculated ask amounts included on a response device that is based on a donor/prospect’s giving history. You can assign ask ladders to segments in a mailing to ensure each segment member receives the appropriate ask ladder on their mailing. You can also create an ask ladder override to apply a different ask ladder to members of a selection rather than the one specified for their mailing segment. You can create Ask Ladder Response Reports to track the performance of ask ladders.

 
Associated Revenue

A prospect’s commitment in response to a solicitation. Fundraisers can associate revenue with an opportunity when the opportunity has a status of Accepted and the pledge, gift, grant, matching gift claim or planned gift has been booked in Davie.

 
Attrition Rate

The rate at which donors or members do not renew, usually expressed as a percentage of active donors.

 
Batch Design

The design of the format and field requirements in Blackbaud CRM required for batch entry.

 
Batch Entry

A method to add or update records in the database. Batch entry is designed for efficiency. It results in rapid entry and update of large numbers of transactions. This will also be the way all gifts and memberships will be entered unless the gift is a planned gift. Planned gifts will be entered directly on the opportunity of a constituent.

 
Batch Processing

A process in Blackbaud Enterprise CRM in which gifts can be entered in a group.

Benefit category is used to categorize benefits sent to donors.

An item that the organization will send to the donor upon receipt of a gift that has a perceived value. A tangible benefit that a constituent receives as the result of a donation or event registration.

Blackbaud CRM

Blackbaud Enterprise CRM – The core system that brings together disparate information — such as annual and major giving, constituent services, programs, human capital (employees, volunteers, etc.), and operational systems — across the various offices and functional areas within a large organization. Blackbaud Enterprise CRM is an information system that facilitates data sharing and data management across organizational boundaries. Branded as Davie by UNC.

Capacity

An assessment of giving ability, often measured as a percentage of a prospect’s total wealth. The financial resource a prospect has to give to a non-profit. Reflected in Davie as a rating which is located on the Prospect view under Prospect Status.

 
Chancellor’s Prospect

Prospect that the chancellor is in communication with for fundraising purposes.

 
Change Request

The way Davie users request a change to data. There are several Change Request forms throughout the system.
